My buddy Chris emailed this story, showing the Chinese government's determination to control Tibetan Buddhists even after their death. There will be no more reincarnation, you see, without filing the proper paperwork with, and receiving the approval of, Chinese authorities.
According to a statement issued by the State Administration for Religious Affairs, the law, which goes into effect next month and strictly stipulates the procedures by which one is to reincarnate, is "an important move to institutionalize management of reincarnation."I can only imagine mine would be the soul to get lost in the bureaucracy of some Ministry of Bodily Rehabitation office.
