For 10 weeks, Mark Haub... ate one of these sugary cakelets every three hours, instead of meals. To add variety in his steady stream of Hostess and Little Debbie snacks, Haub munched on Doritos chips, sugary cereals and Oreos, too.This is not such a radical finding. I mean, yeah if you nearly starve yourself except for a daily protein shake and a few sugary snacks, you will probably lose weight. The surprising part is that his cholestorol, triglycerides and other overall health indicators improved also. Go figure.His premise: That in weight loss, pure calorie counting is what matters most -- not the nutritional value of the food.

i know someone who starts his day with coffee... then doesn't eat all day... until a small dinner followed by a few pale ales. possibly the next fad?
